It’s Week 1 of National Preparedness Month, and the focus right now is on making a plan. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) has some great resources to get you started at their ready.gov site.
Use their checklist to make sure you know the following:
- How to receive emergency alerts and warnings
- How to put together a shelter plan
- How to create an evacuation route
- How to make a family/household communication plan
